A former West Midlands police detective. John Hanson turned to chronicling British sightings, writing the Haunted Skies books with Dawn Holloway. Their work reaches back to the Bexleyheath saucer of 1955, a case they called probably one of the best documented accounts of a British landing. Volume 7 of the series covers Elsie Oakensen's encounter at Church Stowe in November 1978, a car-stop with circles of white light and missing time. Closer to home, the pair have also covered the Dudley Dorito, the black triangle reported over the West Midlands.
