An author whose books gather the strange from many corners. Ghosts, monsters, fairies. In 1974 Janet Bord included the Newby Church photograph in Ghosts, its earliest known book appearance, and the hooded figure by the altar went on to rank among the most famous ghost photographs. She co-authored The Bigfoot Casebook, which opens its chronology with the Ellisburg Wild Man of 1818. In her guide to fairy sites, she placed Wavertree, scene of the Liverpool Leprechaun Scare of 1964.
