Loren Gross was a UFO historian whose writing appears across several cases in the archive. His history of 1947 supplies key crew quotes from United Air Lines Flight 105, the July 4 sighting over Idaho. He also turned up in the debate over other cases. At Marignane Airport, he asked what made the site so different that it drew two alleged landings, in 1952 and again in 1954. He gave no answer. In 1991 he questioned the Ranton case of 1954 and said it had a George Adamski smell. He pointed to the witness's psychic claims before her sighting.
