Context
Late 1954. Venezuela was in the grip of a flying saucer craze, and some of the strangest reports involved small, hairy beings of startling strength. On the night of November 28 to 29, truck drivers Gustavo González and José Ponce described a struggle with a hairy dwarf at Petare. A knife glanced off its body. Less than two weeks later, a second fight would be reported from Lara State.
