John A. Keel

Person 8 stories, 1790 to 1966

A writer whose name runs through the archive's strangest tales. In 1975 John A. Keel published The Mothman Prophecies. It tied the winged creature of Point Pleasant to UFOs, precognition, the men in black and the collapse of the Silver Bridge, which killed 46 people. He also retold John Martin's 1878 saucer sighting over North Texas. He claimed to have seen the lost photograph of the Tombstone Thunderbird. And through Keel and Loren Coleman came word of a second motorist near the spot of Charles Wetzel's 1958 Riverside Monster.
