Inverness

Place 3 stories, 565 to 1934

A Highland town on the River Ness, close to the loch that made it famous. Its name surfaces at the very start of the Nessie story. Saint Columba's encounter in 565 took place on the River Nesa, near present-day Inverness, not on the loch itself. Centuries later, in 1933, the hunt for Marmaduke Wetherell's footprints drew crowds of monster hunters, and the town was floodlit for the occasion. One year on, Wilson brought his plates to Ogston's chemist in Inverness. There George Morrison developed them. Two showed an object, and one became the Surgeon's Photograph.
