Alejandro Agostinelli is an Argentine-focused journalist, author and sceptical investigator whose work runs through several of the archive's South American cases. In February 1986 he examined the Huella del Pajarillo burn mark at Capilla del Monte. He read it as a possible lightning strike. Between 1996 and 2007 he interviewed director Aníbal Uset at least seven times, and Uset admitted the 1968 Vidal teleportation story was a hoax. In 2011 he privately recorded Peccinetti on the Mendoza casino workers' encounter. He also wrote the 2009 book Invasores, which looked back at the 2002 cattle mutilation wave.
