A sceptical voice in the pages of Magonia. Peter Rogerson returned again and again to famous cases from Latin America and Europe, and he looked for the human story behind them. In 1993 he argued that the Antônio Villas Boas abduction might have been shaped by a similar story in O Cruzeiro and by George Adamski's contactee tales. In 1994 he suggested the Vidal teleportation story had been invented to cover Mrs. Vidal's psychiatric hospitalisation. He counted the Villegas-Peccinetti encounter among the semi-abductions of Latin America's 1968 wave. Reviewing Maurizio Verga's book, he recalled that Johannis was a well known science fiction writer.
