Context
The night of May 13, 1960. According to Coral Lorenzen, a six-state area of Brazil experienced an unusual number of UFO sightings. That same evening, about 150 km inland at Quixadá, the novelist Rachel de Queiroz, her family and about 20 people at the Não Me Deixes farm watched an orange light inside a luminous, misty halo. It moved east, sometimes fast, sometimes slowly, sometimes stopping. She ended her O Cruzeiro column with "EU VI," meaning "I saw."
