On 1 July 1963, The Globe and Mail looked back on the Igopogo sighting at Lake Simcoe, eleven years on, and described the witness Charles as a local fishing guide. Later, journalist Daniel Wood interviewed Ken Chaplin about his Ogopogo video at Okanagan Lake and watched the tape several times. He was convinced it showed a real animal.
