A science writer, and the man behind a 1969 Mayflower paperback, UFO: Flying Saucers over Britain. Several British police sightings survive through its pages. The Bacup Police Station Cigar of 1967 is known only from his book, a fact that later led some reposts to misdate the case to 1969. He also covered the Aldridge sighting of 1971, when five patrolmen watched a UFO for two hours. And the PC Colin Perks encounter at Wilmslow in 1966 reached his paperback through a press account. In 1969 he called Cedric Allingham's Flying Saucer from Mars probably the biggest UFO leg-pull ever perpetrated in Britain.
