On 11 June 1877 the Royal Yacht Osborne reached Portsmouth, and Commander Pearson sent his official sea monster report to the Admiralty. November 1941. Helen Duncan sat at the Master Temple Psychic Centre on Copnor Road, where a sailor from HMS Barham reportedly appeared. Sceptics later argued the news had leaked through the town's bereaved families. Then 1 June 1950. A Meteor pilot over the Portsmouth area saw a circular, bright metallic object, and the official report blamed the radar blip on a transmitter somewhere nearby.
