NIDS

Organisation 3 stories, 1985 to 2000

Robert Bigelow's National Institute for Discovery Science, known as NIDS, investigated some of the strangest cases in the archive. September 1996. It took control of Skinwalker Ranch, where observers later watched a yellowish light grow to about 4 feet across. Publicly, NIDS stayed cautious, and the verdict was inconclusive. It also had samples tested, including a metal artifact from Bob White's case, which New Mexico Tech found to be a poorly cast aluminum-silicon alloy. In the St. Clair County Police Triangle case, NIDS interviewed eight witnesses and in July 2002 proposed a Department of Defense black program aircraft, then stepped back from the idea in 2004.
