Missouri had its monster first. Momo was a hairy creature, reported with a stench and lights in the sky, and its sightings filled the news. In this archive the name works as a backdrop for the reports that followed. In Tazewell County, Illinois, the Cole Hollow Road Monster appeared in 1972, and one source raised mass hallucination set off by the Momo reports. The Roachdale Bigfoot in Indiana belongs to the same summer. In Oklahoma, the Noxie Monster of 1975 is placed beside the Momo flap and the Fouke Monster, part of the great Bigfoot decade.
