Holloman AFB

An air base in New Mexico, and a launch point for things that later filled the sky. From April 1950 to March 1951, Project Twinkle ran camera stations at Vaughn and Holloman AFB to watch for the green fireballs. In 1956, Edward J. Ruppelt said a Skyhook balloon launched from Holloman burst near Farmington on St. Patrick's Day, though critics note the theory covers only one of three days. 27 October 1953. Project Moby Dick balloon 175 left Holloman. Historian David Clarke argues it drifted over Kent six days later, in the RAF West Malling Vampire sighting.
