An atomic installation in New Mexico, and a recurring point on the map of the early sightings. Late 1948. Reports of green fireballs came in from Sandia Base, Kirtland Air Force Base and Los Alamos itself. On February 16, 1949, Los Alamos hosted a secret Conference on Aerial Phenomena, where Edward Teller doubted the lights were meteors. A radar watch there detected no unusual targets. The conference later judged the green fireballs natural, a view Ruppelt linked to the Air Force stance on the Camp Hood lights. In March 1950, reports placed Farmington about 110 air miles northwest of the installation.
