John Green owned the Agassiz-Harrison Advance and spent some 60 years chasing the Sasquatch. In 1957 he re-interviewed the Chapman family of the 1941 Ruby Creek Incident. The case convinced him, and he settled in Harrison Hot Springs. That same year a letter arrived from retired prospector Albert Ostman, who claimed a Sasquatch family had taken him in 1924. Green believed him to the end. He was also handed the 1884 story of Jacko, the British Columbia Gorilla. In 1975 he found two follow-up articles and wrote it off as probable journalistic fiction.
