An Indiana steel town, Gary appears twice in the archive. In the 1950 TWA Flight 117 "red wheel" sighting near Goshen, the official answer pointed to blast-furnace reflections off clouds from the furnaces at Gary, about 90 miles away. Adickes called that absolutely out of the question. Gary returns in 2011 as the setting of the Ammons haunting. 3860 Carolina Street. Police, DCS and the Rev. Michael Maginot visited the house together on May 10, 2012, and Capt. Charles Austin, a 36-year Gary police veteran, arrived sceptical and left a believer.
