CSIR

Organisation 5 stories, 1965 to 1995

South Africa's Council for Scientific and Industrial Research. In the archive, its name surfaces wherever physical traces were left behind. 1965. On the Pretoria-Bronkhorstspruit road, samples of a burned road surface went to a leading scientific agency, which context suggests was the CSIR. In 1972 at Braeside farm near Fort Beaufort, soil from nine circular imprints was sent to its laboratories. Apparently the samples never arrived. That same year, one account of the Rosmead tennis court landing says the CSIR analysed asphalt and a tree. Nothing was ever found.
