A barrister and chairman of the Ghost Club, Alan Murdie turns up in the archive as a patient reader of old files. In 2006 he found a forgotten Society for Psychical Research report on the Brown Lady of Raynham Hall photograph, dated 14 January 1937. He visited Anolaima in 2000 and 2001. There he linked the Arcesio Bermúdez case to local beliefs in spirit lights that foretell death. For the South Shields Poltergeist, he examined an archive of more than 450 photographs, clips and statements. Writing for the Society in 2010, he called the material consistent with the claims.
