A zoologist with the Centre for Fortean Zoology, Richard Freeman turns up wherever the archive's strange animals lead. January 2003. He joined director Jon Downes at Bolam Lake in Northumberland, watching for a reported man-beast. In 2004 he interviewed Debbie Martyr about her orang pendek sighting, then followed her into the Sumatran forests. Two years later he was on the team sent to The Gambia, carrying a hand-drawn map to the Gambo burial site. A nightclub stood on the spot. In 2020 he wrote about ranger Charlie Beasley's thylacine sighting, calling him another expert witness.
