Nebo

Place 3 stories, 1965 to 1975

A town in the Mackay hinterland of central Queensland, in grazing country. Its name runs through a cluster of the district's strange cases. In the winter of 1965, Daunia Station, a property near Nebo, produced a sighting that survives in a single police file. Then came 22 March 1975. Five young people returning from a droving trip saw a strange light among the timber, some 90 km from Nebo. The next day they reported to Nebo police, and the RAAF later investigated traces. Bill Chalker set the Burrinjuck Dam case of 1967 just before this one in his account.
