Saturday night, 22 March 1975. Five young people were driving home from a droving trip on a new gravel road in the Nebo district of Queensland. A light appeared among the trees. Then the shape behind it. A row of flashing lights on a box-like mass. Above it, a sphere ringed with bluey-green lights around a black disc. As the car drew level, a tremendously loud bang rang out and the vehicle shook. The next day, police walked the site. Three days after the sighting, the RAAF did too. They found fresh impressions in the gravel and stones freshly broken. The investigating officer could not explain any of it.
