A Texas historian and columnist, Mike Cox appears across three of the archive's Texas stories. In 2010 he retold the Lobo Girl of Devil's River for Texas Escapes. For John Martin's 1878 large saucer, he researched the Dallas Herald link and the 1880 census, and noted that the Austin Daily Statesman stayed silent. His fullest role came with the Camp Hood balls of fire of 1949. Reading the released FOIA documents, he concluded the triangulation net went live around May 4 anyway. In his view, the sightings above the then top secret facility have never been explained.
