A city in Texas, and the setting for two very different kinds of sky story. 25 August 1951. Four men from Texas Technological College sat in a backyard and watched a formation of lights streak overhead. The Lubbock Lights photos later reached Life, while plovers under new mercury vapour street lights were debated. Then, February 1988. Parishioners at St. John Neumann Catholic Church reported experiences of Mary and a spinning sun. A committee found no deception but no convincing miracle. Lubbock was later named alongside Conyers and Golden as an apparition vigil of the era.
