La Liberté de l'Est

Organisation 4 stories, 1962 to 1977

A French newspaper based in Épinal, La Liberté de l'Est carried strange stories from near and far. 27 June 1962. Its front page reported the luminous object seen from an Aer Lingus Viscount over Somerset, a month after the Taunton Courier ran it. In its 24-25 December issue in 1975, it told of a UFO in Seine-et-Marne seen by 20 people, the Dampmart teacher and pupils. Then came 19 April 1977. At a hunt for the Beast of the Vosges at Domèvre-sur-Durbion, its photographer Ernest Gless took the shot as the animal broke cover.
