Ireland's main air gateway turns up at the edges of several stories in the archive. In 1962 Aer Lingus captain Gordon Pendleton stood at Dublin Airport and described his encounter with a luminous globe on camera. RTÉ News aired the report on 21 May 1962. Decades later it shaped the Dunboyne "Four Triangles" case of 2008. A wedding at the nearby Dunboyne Castle Hotel released Chinese sky lanterns that August, after securing permission from the Irish Aviation Authority because of the airport's proximity. Terminal 2 also hosts Out of the Marvellous, a 2014 tapestry by Peter Sís based on the Airship of Clonmacnoise.
