Spain's Guardia Civil turns up again and again in the archive, as witnesses, investigators and record keepers. In 1953, officers at the Honrubia post saw a greyish-white sphere over Villares del Saz. They examined the field and found footprints and four holes forming a perfect square. Decades later, that landing headed a table of 25 UFO incidents recorded by the force. In 1971, a Guardia Civil officer at Monistrol de Montserrat watched a luminous point and sketched it. And on 30 December 1996, its Criminology Division examined the San José de Valderas negatives. It found no manipulation.
