Irene Granchi worked out of Rio de Janeiro as APRO's field investigator and representative in Brazil. In 1970 she filed the case of Almiro Martins de Freitas, the Funil Dam guard left blind for a time, for the APRO Bulletin. October 1977. She searched the Paciência field after Antônio La Rubia's robot abduction story broke, finding no impressions or burned grass, then interviewed him at her home. Later she interviewed the three men of the Guaraí Road encounter and arranged regression for Elias Seixas. She called it a major UFO event, and in 1995 wrote a long article on it in Revista UFO.
