Niterói sits across the bay from Rio de Janeiro, and it surfaces in more than one Brazilian case. Wednesday, 17 August 1966. Two electronics technicians from Campos dos Goytacazes, Miguel José Viana and Manoel Pereira da Cruz, reached the city in the early afternoon. They bought raincoats and mineral water. It was the last time they were seen alive, the start of the Lead Masks Case. Years later, in the 1980 Elias Seixas abduction, regression sessions were held here with Dr. Silvio Lago. And in 2011 a nephew of Trindade photographer Baraúna claimed the famous images were shot at night in Niterói.
