A physicist at the University of Colorado. In October 1966, Le Monde announced that Edward Condon had been named to lead an Air Force-funded UFO study, the effort that became the Condon Committee. May 5, 1967. At the CIA's National Photographic Interpretation Center, he was briefed on Ralph Ditter's Zanesville Polaroids, and reportedly said a scientific analysis of a UFO would for the first time stand up to investigation. His committee concluded the photos were faked. The mutilation of Snippy the horse drew a different response. Even after his study found no abnormal causes, Condon called it in 1968 the most bizarre case his group had investigated.
