Mike Dash is a researcher and writer whose work runs through the archive's Spring-heeled Jack cases. His 1996 survey in Fortean Studies gives the source for the 1877 shooting at Newport Arch, Lincoln. It also names the Everton scare of 1904 as the last newspaper report of a Jack appearance. Dash suspected Peter Haining's 1977 book of inventing episodes. He also weighed the Kersey time-slip of 1957. He questioned its glass windows and butcher's carcasses, and raised derealisation and thirty years of memory. Without better evidence, he could not accept real time travel.
