A Himalayan hill district at the edge of the yeti story. In 1888, Laurence Austine Waddell was posted to the Darjeeling district as a medical officer, a major in the Indian Medical Service, and the next year he recorded the footprints of hairy wild men in northeast Sikkim. 1921. After the Howard-Bury tracks at the Lhakpa La, Henry Newman interviewed the porters in Darjeeling. He swapped in the word abominable. In 1925, N. A. Tombazi, a Greek photographer and geologist who lived in Darjeeling, led the expedition that reported a sighting near the Zemu Glacier.
