Boianai

Place 3 stories, 1957 to 1985

An Anglican mission on Goodenough Bay, in the Territory of Papua. Rev. William Booth Gill ran it in 1959. He was a sceptic who still wanted scientific evidence. Then strange things were reported nearby. On 21 June, teacher Stephen Gill Moi saw an inverted saucer, and Father Gill would go on to report a close encounter with a figure on a craft. The case is often set beside the 1957 Nawaca fishermen encounter in Fiji. Decades later, in 2026, ABC Pacific Beat recalled the famous Boianai sightings alongside the 1985 Papua New Guinea overflights cable.
