February 9, 1962. About 3:30 in the morning. Ronald Wildman, a 35-year-old motor mechanic from Luton, was delivering a new estate car to Swansea along the road through Aston Clinton, Buckinghamshire. Ahead of him, something hung over the road. It was oval, glowing white, about 40 feet wide, with dark marks like portholes around its edge. His car slowed, though he never touched the brake. Frost fell from the treetops onto his windscreen. Then the object flew off towards Aylesbury. Wildman drove to the police. They came to believe him. Soon his report was on its way to the Air Ministry.
