Paranormal record / 1909
January 1909. Bristol, Pennsylvania. Around two in the morning, a patrolman on Buckley Street saw a peculiar animal. It hopped like a bird. It let out a terrible scream. He fired his revolver twice. For the next seven days, the Leeds Devil seemed to be everywhere. Hoofprints crossed the snow and stopped dead, as if the creature had taken flight. A couple in Gloucester City watched it from their window. Firemen turned a hose on it. Police in Camden opened fire. Posses searched the countryside, and newspapers printed hundreds of accounts. Then came a capture, a kangaroo and a hoax. Writers later gave the episode its name. Phenomenal Week.
