Sighting record / 1985
August 18, 1985. A Cessna flies south along the Swedish coast from Umeå. Four pilots are on board, heading home from an air show. Just south of Söderhamn, something passes beneath them. Silver. Shaped like a rocket. Close enough to see rivets, bare metal flashing in the sun, and rudders that moved. The pilots turned to follow. They were too slow. The object was faster than their plane. They did not call the newspapers. They called the military, and the report went to the Air Force's intelligence service. Nearly three decades later, the last surviving pilot, Jan Erik Henriksson, told the story again on Swedish television.
