Friday 11 October 1963. Eugenio Douglas, a 48-year-old truck driver from Venado Tuerto, was hauling charcoal along Provincial Route 11 between Isla Verde and Monte Maíz, in Córdoba. The national weather service later recorded continuous drizzle and fog banks that cut visibility to 500 metres.
