The icemen
Crawfordsville, Indiana. Saturday, September 5, 1891. About 2 a.m. Marshall McIntyre and Bill Gray were hitching their wagon for the morning ice rounds. A feeling of "awe and dread" came over them. They looked up. The Crawfordsville Daily Journal would call what they saw a "horrible apparition."
