Sussex Police

Organisation 3 stories, 1998 to 2018

The county police force of Sussex turns up in three very different cases. September 1998. Two officers from Horsham were on duty in the small hours on the A281 between Henfield and Woodmancote. Two years later, on the night of 11 August 2000, a Sussex Police helicopter over Brighton carried Sgt John Tickner and paramedic Sean Mitchell. No statement from the force on that sighting has come to light. In the Gatwick Airport drone incident of 2018, Sussex Police counted 129 reports, 109 from credible witnesses. They arrested a Crawley couple, later apologised, and settled out of court for £200,000.
