A Fox television series hosted by Tim White, Sightings brought several of the archive's cases to a wide audience. In 1994 its crew came to the Sallie House with psychic Peter James and parapsychologist Kerry Gaynor. During filming, deep scratches appeared on Tony's arms, back and stomach. The case aired as the "Heartland Ghost" from 11 September 1994, across at least seven segments through 1997. Gaynor also showed the Doris Bither photographs on the programme in 1992. Then, on 3 April 1995, an episode carried the Dalnegorsk crash to Western viewers. The nickname "the Soviet Roswell" followed.
