Jean-Jacques Vélasco was a French official investigator who worked on several of the country's best-known cases, first with GEPAN and later as head of SEPRA. 1981. At Trans-en-Provence, he led the site work, where lab results pointed to compression by a mass of about 4 to 5 tonnes and soil heated to between 300 and 600 °C. In 1994, he took up the case of Air France Flight AF3532 over Coulommiers, where a radar track crossed the airliner's path for 50 seconds. He also discussed the 1954 Tananarive mass sighting. With Nicolas Montigiani, he wrote OVNIS l'évidence, which covers the L'Amarante case.
