Keflavík, Iceland. 4 May 1955. The Air Force record puts the time at 12:38 p.m. Two U.S. Air Force officers were at the airfield on the Reykjanes peninsula. One of them commanded the 57th Fighter Interceptor Squadron. What they saw lasted only seconds. About ten round, white objects crossed the sky in an irregular formation. Some made erratic movements. One left a brief smoke trail. Then they were gone. Lt. Col. Edward J. Stealy and 1st Lt. Joseph W. Burt reported it. Project Blue Book could not name a cause. The case still sits on the list of unknowns.
