A researcher with UFOCUS NZ, Suzy Hansen wrote up some of New Zealand's most striking encounters. Her online write-ups cover the night of 30 October 1969 at Waipukurau Aerodrome. There, security officer John Cudby saw a round object hover above the grass. She interviewed Beverlea Parsons about the 1977 Waimata Valley encounter and published her account. Hansen calls her the first recorded New Zealand abductee to go public. She also co-authored the case report on the 1995 Hamilton Airport sighting. A senior air traffic controller watched a bright silver object cross the sky.
