Operação Prato gives its name to the Colares flap of 1977 in Brazil. The programme surfaces again in the story of VASP Flight 169 in 1982. On a later flight to Belém, Captain Britto was approached by a member of the Operação Prato team. A private meeting with Col. Uyrangê Hollanda followed. By Britto's account, Hollanda said a group in Brasília held the recordings. The name returns in the Cláudio case of 2008, where police pursued luminous beings in Minas Gerais. That case is often set beside Operação Prato and the Varginha case.
