Tasmania had its own record keeper. Keith Roberts, an amateur astronomer, served as director of the Tasmanian UFO Investigation Centre (TUFOIC) and wrote Tasmania: A UFO History, which covers the 1960 Cressy cigar seen by Rev. Lionel Browning. In 2014 he supplied the full report of the 1974 St Helens car-stop encounter, which Keith Basterfield then published. Regatta Day, 2005. Six people called Roberts about a large bright light around Mangalore. He stayed careful, calling it the first multiple-reported sighting in nearly 10 years. He had logged about 20 calls that year, against a usual 50.
