Boyup Brook

Place 4 stories, 1951 to 1972

A rural shire in the South West of Western Australia. Its name is attached to one of the state's best-known car-stop cases. Monday 30 October 1967. Shearing contractor Alexander Roy Spargo was driving alone from Kojonup toward Boyup Brook when he saw a football-shaped, blue iridescent object, and his car's electrics failed. Constable Leonard Johnson of the Boyup Brook Police Station wrote up the report. The shire also takes in Chowerup, site of a 1951 sighting, and the case was later set beside the Maureen Puddy encounters of 1972.
