27 August 2002. Two girls walked to a spring at the edge of a forest in Transcarpathia, Ukraine. They filled their bottles with what locals called the best water in the area. Then they saw a woman standing behind Mariana. She was young and beautiful, dressed in white with a blue belt, standing on a low cloud. She smiled. She said nothing. Later that day she returned with two angels and introduced herself as the Most Pure Virgin Mary. Within months Dzhublyk had drawn crowds, a bishop's ban and a papal blessing. The Church has not yet ruled on what the girls saw.

Context

Dzhublyk is a marshy meadow at the edge of a forest, between the villages of Nyzhnie Bolotne and Vilkhivka in Zakarpattia oblast. Locals said its spring gave the best water in the area. The Greek Catholics here belong to the Mukachevo eparchy.
