Nederland, Texas. Before dawn on Sunday, 6 February 1966. An 11-year-old boy switched on the bathroom light, and the power died. Outside, the lawn was bathed in a pulsing reddish glow. Kenneth R. Gulley looked up and saw yellowish-reddish lights coming from an object about 500 feet above the ground. It drifted west toward Jefferson County Airport. An aircraft took off and turned toward it. The object stopped and went dark. Then the plane's landing lights caught its silhouette. It looked like a tadpole. Project Blue Book could find no feasible explanation. Case 10196 was filed as Unidentified.
