Context
Itapiranga is a small town in the Brazilian state of Amazonas, about 200 km east of Manaus. Its name means "red stone." It was the hometown of Protógenes Gabriel da Costa Coutinho. His son, Edson Glauber, was an economics student in Manaus. René Laurentin would later call him "a kind, stable, and calm" person.
